Wasn't interested in this series until I heard Tobias was cast in Season 3. If you like sex, drama, violence, and awesomeness (i.e., Rome) check it out! And without further ado, Edmure Tully of Riverrun (a poor archer with a noble face) ...

Next saturday we will have the pleasure to see Tobias Menzies in "Cold War", the ninth episode of the seventh series of Doctor Who. The action is set in a Submarine, the episode written by Mark Gatiss and he is co-starring Liam Cunningham -aka Sir Davos in Game of Thrones.
Speaking of which, we are still waiting to see Tobias in the Tully's colors. But to keep us waiting, we have photos from the launch party in London.

There are also rumors of seeing him starring in series 3 of Sherlock but they're purely rumors based on these tweets :

Image is from cumberfit on tumblr, not mine.

But we can also simply assume now that Gatiss is just referring to Doctor Who's episode... We will just have to wait and see. Spoilers will probably come from Sherlock's set in the next few weeks of months. Hope Menzies will be there. We just have to wait and see...

Since Game of Thrones is still a month away, we're still Tobias-less on my side of the pond. He was, however, on Monday's episode of Black Mirror on Channel 4. He plays a Tory politician (ha!) who ends up running against Waldo, a CGI blue bear who starts out as a recurring character on a comedy show. Waldo is also foul-mouthed and makes boatloads of penis jokes, so please steer clear in case you find that offensive.

Part I Is uploaded on youtube. Will try to get to part II tomorrow

Does anyone know whether or not the twitter account that just showed up (link below) is Tobias's official page? I haven't heard anything about it and this isn't linked to his imdb page (yet).

He played Prime Minister Charles Flyte and promptly got himself killed off in dramatic fashion after delivering a speech and telling his deputy PM everything will work out in the end (*cue the plane crash*).

I think the video might be blocked in the UK, but hopefully everyone else should be able to see it.

  • Tobias plays the part of Tony in "A Nice Little Holiday" on BBC Radio 4.  Listen here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/again/b00txj7c.asx
  • For those lucky people in the UK, you can see Tobs recite from Henry V on Simon Schama's Shakespeare special on BBC 2. Unfortunately viewers outside the UK can't stream the video. If someone would be so nice as to post it for those of us on the other side of the pond...
  • There's a lengthy speculation thread on Tumblr regarding Tobias being cast for Moran in the Sherlock series sparked by a Tweet by Mark Gatiss "You will be seeing more of him soon" RE: Tobias on TV. Hmmmm
  • Lastly, does anyone have a copy of the Angel interview from 2007? I found the (yummy) pictures but not the interview itself. Thanks in advance.

Just saw Tobias will be appearing in the first episode of this new drama on Channel 4. As far as I could tell the series should air some time this summer, but I haven't seen an actual air date yet.

In addition to the lovely Mr. Menzies, it stars Gabriel Byrne and Charles Dance, so there should lots of good acting on display.

In case anyone else has additional information about this, please feel free to chime in :).

In honour of the dear fellow himself turning 38 I thought I'd go for another gif-spam. This time taken from the "Forget Me Not" trailer (which is gorgeous and on YouTube for anyone who hasn't seen it). Again, credit goes to solidmercury over at Tumblr.

Happy Birthday to you...Collapse )
